This event invites trainers to actively participate in shaping their local gaming environment by reviewing and approving Wayspot nominations on the Niantic Wayfarer platform. Your efforts will help bring new PokéStops and Gyms to life in Pokémon Go, and as a bonus, you'll earn exclusive rewards for your contributions.
The Wayfarer Challenge is scheduled to run from March 7th to 9th in Chile and from March 10th to 12th in India. During these dates, you're encouraged to nominate real-world landmarks, sculptures, street art, and more to potentially transform them into PokéStops or Gyms.
By reviewing nominations, you'll contribute to reaching community milestones. If the collective effort results in resolving 5,000 nominations, all participants will be rewarded with 20 Ultra Balls, a Star Piece, an Incense, and a Poffin. Should the community surpass this and reach 10,000 approvals, the rewards escalate to 25 Ultra Balls, two Star Pieces, two Incense, two Poffins, and a Lucky Egg.
To participate, you must be at least level 37 in Pokémon Go and possess a Niantic Wayfarer account. New users will need to complete the Wayfarer Orientation before they can start reviewing. Additionally, you must have recently played in either Chile or India or set your Wayfarer Hometown or Bonus Location to one of these countries. To qualify for rewards, you need to review at least 50 nominations, with the condition that at least one community milestone is met.
Running concurrently, the PokéStop Challenge event will take place from March 9th to 12th, exclusively in Chile and India. This event offers 3x XP for visiting new PokéStops for the first time, 3x Stardust from opening Gifts, and an increase in Kecleon spawns. Event-specific Field Research will give you opportunities to encounter Eevee, while Timed Research will allow you to catch other Pokémon.
