The PlayStation Portal has never been discounted, but savvy shoppers can still save on a used one. Amazon Resale, formerly known as Amazon Warehouse, currently offers Used: Like New condition PS Portals for just $150.23 shipped. This represents a significant 25% savings off the new retail price of $199. While a Sony warranty may not be included, Amazon Resale items come with the same 30-day return policy as new purchases. Given the popularity, these units are expected to sell out quickly.
Update: The price has dropped to $150.23, marking the lowest we've seen for a Used: Like New unit.

The device looks and functions as if it were new, with only moderate packing damage noted during inspection.
The PS Portal, Sony's innovative handheld gaming accessory for the PS5, resembles an extended split-pad DualSense controller with an 8-inch 1080p LCD screen in the center. It transforms your PS5 into a portable gaming device by streaming games from your console at up to 60fps. The controller retains the DualSense's haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, and a touchscreen interface in place of the touchpad. The Portal enables game streaming even outside your home, provided you have a very stable, very fast internet connection. Remember, the PS Portal is not a standalone device; it requires a PS5 to operate.
Update: You no longer need a PS5 to play games on the PS Portal. Sony has introduced a feature allowing owners to stream games directly from its PlayStation Now cloud streaming service, eliminating the need for a PS5. Portal users can now choose to connect to their PS5 or directly to Sony’s cloud servers, granting access to over 120 games, including titles like Ghost of Tsushima, Resident Evil 3 Remake, The Last of Us Part 1 Remastered, and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Note that you must subscribe to the highest tier of PlayStation Plus, which costs $18 a month—a more affordable option compared to purchasing a PS5 and individual games.
It's worth noting that the PlayStation Portal isn't the only way to stream PS5 games over Wi-Fi within your home. You can achieve similar functionality by downloading the PS Remote Play app on a mobile device or other gaming handhelds like the Steam Deck. However, this setup is more complicated and lacks some of the DualSense's features.
PlayStation Portal Review by Seth Macy**
"The PlayStation Portal has exceeded my expectations. Initially skeptical, I found it offers a superior experience compared to using a phone with an attached controller. The freedom to play my PS5 from any location with decent WiFi, especially when the TV is occupied by family members playing the Switch, is invaluable. While it's not a standalone device and requires a PS5, its limitations include the lack of WiFi access requiring a web browser login and no Bluetooth audio support. Despite these drawbacks, the Portal remains the best current solution for PlayStation Remote Play, making it a must-own for PS5 owners who enjoy handheld gaming or need to share their TV."
