Elden Ring Nightreign's First Network Test: A PS5 and Xbox Series X/S Exclusive
Registration for Elden Ring Nightreign's initial network test opens January 10th, 2025, but with a significant limitation: it's exclusive to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles. This means less than half of the game's target platforms (PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC) will be included in the beta.
Announced at The Game Awards 2024, Elden Ring Nightreign is a cooperative Soulsborne experience set in The Lands Between, designed for three-player parties. The full game is slated for a 2025 release. This network test serves as a crucial pre-launch evaluation.
How to Register:
- Visit the official Elden Ring Nightreign network test website starting January 10th.
- Register, specifying your preferred platform (PS5 or Xbox Series X/S).
- Await a confirmation email (arriving no later than February 2025).
- Participate in the test during February 2025 (exact dates to be announced).
Platform and Multiplayer Limitations:
The test's exclusivity to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S is noteworthy. FromSoftware has confirmed no cross-platform play for the final game, and this restriction extends to the network test. Additionally, progress made during the beta is unlikely to carry over to the full release. Further beta tests are possible, but unconfirmed.
Elden Ring Nightreign's multiplayer is limited to solo play or three-player parties; two-player parties are not supported. Whether the network test will impose additional gameplay restrictions remains unclear.
