Pedro Pascal, renowned for his roles in acclaimed series like The Last of Us, The Mandalorian, and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, has publicly criticized JK Rowling, the author of the Harry Potter series, due to her recent statements against the transgender community.
The controversy escalated when Rowling expressed support for a UK Supreme Court decision that legally defines "woman" as "a biological woman and biological sex" for the purposes of equality legislation, effectively excluding transgender women from protections under the Equality Act. Rowling celebrated this ruling on Twitter/X with a photo of herself smoking a cigar and drinking by the ocean, captioned, "I love it when a plan comes together," a nod to her financial support for the organization For Scotland Women, which was involved in the lawsuit.

In response to a video by writer and activist Tariq Raouf criticizing Rowling's stance, Pascal commented, "Awful disgusting SH** is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior." Raouf had described Rowling's actions as "serious Voldemort villain sh**" and encouraged viewers to boycott Harry Potter and related products.
Pascal's advocacy for transgender rights is not new. He has previously shared sentiments like, “I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist,” alongside an image of a sign stating, "A world without trans people has never existed and never will." Additionally, he showed solidarity at the premiere of Thunderbolts in London by wearing a shirt that read "Protect the dolls," a term used within the LGBTQIA+ community to refer to trans women.
His support extends to his personal life as well; Pascal's sister, Lux Pascal, is a trans woman who came out in 2021. Pedro Pascal publicly celebrated her announcement with a heartfelt message, "Mi hermana, mi corazón, nuestra Lux," translating to "My sister, my heart, our Lux."
