While a Nintendo Switch version of Palworld isn't entirely off the table, Pocketpair CEO Takuro Mizobe has voiced concerns regarding the technical challenges of porting the game.

Palworld's Future on Switch Remains Uncertain
No Concrete Plans from Pocketpair
In a recent interview, Mizobe discussed the difficulties in bringing Palworld to the Switch, citing demanding PC specifications. While discussions about potential new platforms are ongoing, no announcements regarding a Switch release are imminent.
Despite the technical hurdles, Mizobe remains positive about expanding Palworld's reach. He previously acknowledged the significant performance difference between the PC and Switch versions, highlighting the technical challenges involved.
Future platform releases (PlayStation, other consoles, or mobile) remain unspecified. Earlier this year, Mizobe confirmed explorations into bringing Palworld to additional platforms. However, he also clarified that Pocketpair is not currently involved in buyout negotiations with Microsoft.
Aiming for Enhanced Multiplayer Experiences
Mizobe also shared his vision for expanding Palworld's multiplayer capabilities. An upcoming arena mode, described as experimental, will pave the way for future PvP elements. He expressed a desire to incorporate elements reminiscent of popular survival games like Ark and Rust, emphasizing a richer PvP experience with alliances and strategic gameplay.
Ark and Rust, known for their challenging environments, resource management, and player interactions (alliances, tribes, etc.), serve as inspiration for Mizobe's vision. Both games blend PvE and PvP elements, presenting players with dangerous wildlife and environmental hazards.
Palworld, Pocketpair's creature-collecting survival shooter, has seen remarkable success since its launch. The game's unique blend of creature capturing, base building, and survival combat has resonated with players.
Boasting impressive launch figures – 15 million PC copies sold within the first month and 10 million players on Xbox Game Pass – Palworld is poised for continued growth. A major update, including the free Sakurajima update (launching Thursday), will introduce a new island, the highly anticipated PvP arena, and more.
