Palworld Mobile Development Confirmed

Krafton and Pocket Pair are joining forces to bring the monster-catching game, Palworld, to mobile devices. Krafton, known for PUBG, will leverage its expertise to adapt Palworld's core gameplay for a mobile audience through its subsidiary, PUBG Studios. This partnership signifies a significant expansion of the Palworld intellectual property.

While details remain scarce, the mobile adaptation is currently under development. The original Palworld, released on Xbox and Steam in January and later on PlayStation 5 (excluding Japan), quickly gained popularity. The exclusion of Japan from the PlayStation 5 launch may be related to an ongoing legal dispute with Nintendo over alleged patent infringement concerning the mechanics of capturing creatures. Nintendo's claim centers on Pocket Pair's alleged infringement of patents related to Pokéball-like mechanics, a claim Pocket Pair disputes due to a lack of clarity on the specific patents involved.

Krafton's involvement is crucial given Pocket Pair's current focus on expanding the existing Palworld game. While this collaboration is promising, the mobile project is likely in its early stages, so significant details remain unknown. We eagerly await further information from Krafton and Pocket Pair regarding the mobile version's features and whether it will be a direct port or a unique adaptation. In the meantime, prospective players can explore the official Steam page for a comprehensive overview of Palworld's gameplay and features.
