Orna: The GPS RPG is gearing up for its next major event: Natureblight. This new in-game chapter launches on May 30, 2025, and continues until June 14th. As the latest installment in the Terra's Legacy saga, it challenges players to once again engage in an environmental conflict.
Natureblight Introduces a New Menace: The Great Murk
Northern Forge Studios is placing a renewed emphasis on planetary themes, continuing a tradition from past updates. With Natureblight, Orna: The GPS RPG integrates real-world conservation issues into its gameplay.
This event marks the studio's second participation in the Green Game Jam, supported by the Playing for the Planet Alliance. Longtime players recognize Orna's unique fusion of fantasy with real-world GPS data. This new chapter will transport you to digital versions of locations grappling with actual environmental crises.
Throughout the event, you will be whisked across the world of Orna to visit seven real-world inspired locations. Each site features a unique Animal Guardian, chosen to represent its local ecosystem.
Your journey will take you to Prince Edward County, Canada, to encounter the Beaver, then dive into Oceania's Coral Reefs. You'll trek the misty paths of Uganda's Bwindi Impenetrable Forest with the Mountain Gorilla and confront frozen ancient beings like the Bone Mammoth in Dunkerque, France.
Other guardians include the Giant Tortoise in Ecuador’s Galapagos Islands, the Giant Panda in Chengdu, China, and the Macaroni Penguin defending the Antarctic Peninsula. By befriending these Animal Guardians, you can add them as permanent companions after the event concludes.
Confronting The Great Murk
As you explore each region, you'll discover how the ancient Terran civilization devastated its own natural world through deforestation, pollution, and species extinction. Now, a similar corruption known as The Great Murk is re-emerging, and you must lead the charge to repel it.
Complementing the event, a special Natureblight pack is available in Orna: The GPS RPG via PlanetPlay. This pack offers origin town cosmetics, character sprites, and consumable booster items. You can download Orna from the Google Play Store.
