Author : Aurora Mar 28,2025

Nintendo enthusiasts, get ready for a more direct line of communication from the creators of Super Mario Bros. with the launch of the Nintendo Today app. Announced by video game icon Shigeru Miyamoto during the March 2025 Nintendo Direct, this new application is now available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, offering a range of exciting features for fans.

Nintendo Today is designed to be your daily go-to for all things Nintendo, serving as both a calendar and a news feed. Following next week's Nintendo Switch 2 Direct, users can log into the app to stay updated with daily news and announcements. Miyamoto emphasized that the app will provide continuous updates, ensuring fans never miss out on the latest happenings.

Unlike traditional Nintendo Directs, Nintendo Today offers a more immediate and engaging experience. Each day, beloved characters from franchises like Mario, Pikmin, and Animal Crossing will greet users, enhancing the daily login experience. The app's feed will not only deliver news but also include special Nintendo-themed content. Highlights from the Nintendo Direct include a new Pikmin 4 comic titled "Too Stuck to Pluck" and insightful "Pearls of Wisdom" from Animal Crossing's Pascal.

While Nintendo Today may not be the blockbuster announcement some fans were hoping for, such as news on Zelda or Super Smash Bros., it represents a valuable new channel for staying connected with Nintendo.
