Mother Nature: EcoDash is a new endless runner game for Android with a powerful message. This game, developed by the UK-based immersive arts organization BOM (Birmingham Open Media), tackles the issue of pollution head-on. Uniquely, it's a collaboration between BOM and a group of girls aged 11-18 from Powered by CAN, a youth project, whose input shaped the game's art style and mechanics.
What Makes Mother Nature: EcoDash Special?
Players take on the role of Mother Nature, a Black female scientist, racing to clean up a polluted city and rescue endangered animals from the clutches of Smog, a villain intent on environmental destruction. Gameplay involves running, jumping, collecting air purifiers to keep the smog meter down, and avoiding being consumed by toxic clouds. The game features rescue missions where players find and return endangered animals to their natural rainforest habitat.
BOM's goal was to create a fun and engaging way to educate players about climate change and air pollution. The game incorporates power-ups, shields, and bonus items to enhance the gameplay experience.
