A New Hub For Hunters
The showcase kicked off with an introduction to the new endgame hub, the Grand Hub, designed to enhance the social experience for hunting parties. Once you reach Hunter Rank 16, you can unlock the Grand Hub by speaking to Tetsuzan in Suja, the Peaks of Accord. Here, hunters can enjoy a variety of activities including feasting, arm wrestling, and listening to the Diva's nightly performances. A new Barrel Bowling mini-game offers vouchers and rewards, adding a fun and competitive element to the hub.
Mizutsune Arrives
A highlight of Title Update 1 is the introduction of the agile and water-based monster, Mizutsune. Players at Hunter Rank 21 or above can embark on this thrilling hunt by visiting the Scarlet Forest and speaking with Kanya. Mizutsune brings swift tail strikes and water jets into the fray, challenging hunters to their limits. Successful hunts will yield new gear, expanding your arsenal.
Additional Hunts on the Way
The excitement doesn't stop there; an Event Quest featuring Arch-tempered Rey Dau promises an even more challenging encounter for seasoned hunters at Hunter Rank 50 or above. Additionally, Zoh Shia, previously a one-time story fight, will now be available for repeated battles through new quests, also accessible at Hunter Rank 50. Both hunts offer the chance to craft unique armor, enhancing your character's abilities.
Arena Quests
For speedrunners and competitive players, Arena Quests introduce a new challenge. Available at the Grand Hub, these quests allow hunters to vie for the fastest clear times, with both Challenge Quests and Free Challenge Quests on offer. Participants and achievers alike will be rewarded with pendants, adding a competitive edge to your Monster Hunter Wilds experience.
Change Alma's Outfit
Alma, the hardworking handler, is getting a stylish upgrade with new cosmetic options. Through an appearance menu at camp, you can change Alma's outfit, and a new free outfit is up for grabs. Completing a specific side mission will also unlock the option to change Alma's glasses, adding a personal touch to your companion.
More DLC is on the way
In addition to the free update, Capcom is launching both free and paid DLC alongside Title Update 1. Classic gestures from previous Monster Hunter games will be freely available in the store, while the Cosmetic DLC Pack 1 offers additional looks for Alma, new stickers, and more. These items can be acquired through the store or by purchasing the Cosmetic DLC Pass or Premium Deluxe Edition.
More Event Quests and Seasonal Events
The game will also see the introduction of more Event Quests and Seasonal Events, which will transform the Grand Hub's appearance and offer limited-time equipment, gestures, and decorations. The Festival of Accord: Blossomdance, kicking off on April 23, will bring pink cherry blossoms and new decor to the game. Capcom has assured that most previous events and Event Quests will return, ensuring a dynamic and ever-evolving game world.
The Roadmap Ahead
Title Update 1 will roll out on April 3 for U.S. players, followed by the Blossomdance on April 22. The challenging Arch-tempered Rey Dau arrives on April 29, and by the end of May, additional features and a Capcom collaboration will debut, setting a robust pace for future content releases.
Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2
The showcase concluded with a tantalizing tease of Title Update 2, slated for this summer. While no specific date was revealed, the glimpse of a returning monster, Lagiacrus, hints at thrilling underwater battles on the horizon.
