Monster Hunter Wilds Beta Extended 24 Hours Post-PSN Outage

Author : Noah May 12,2025

Capcom has announced an extension to the Monster Hunter Wilds beta following a 24-hour PlayStation Network (PSN) outage that disrupted the previous testing session. The PSN experienced an "operational issue" starting at approximately 3pm PT on Friday, February 7, and services were not restored until 24 hours later. In response, Sony compensated PlayStation Plus members with an additional five days of service. During the outage, PlayStation users were unable to access online games, and even some single-player games requiring server authentication were affected.

The second beta session for Monster Hunter Wilds, which had been highly anticipated, was cut short due to the PSN downtime. It was originally scheduled to run from Thursday, February 6, to Sunday, February 9. To make up for the lost time, Capcom has extended the next session by 24 hours. The new beta will now start on Thursday, February 13, at 7pm PT / 3am GMT on February 14 and will run until Monday, February 17, at 6:59pm PT / 2:59am GMT on February 18. Players participating in the extended session will still be eligible for the participation bonuses offered in the full version of the game, according to Capcom.

Despite the disruption, players were able to engage with the game's challenging new monster, Arkveld, during the beta. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch officially on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
