Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Returns to Esports World Cup 2025

Following the apparent success of the Esports World Cup 2024, several publishers have announced the return of their flagship titles for the 2025 edition. Garena's Free Fire was an early confirmation, and now Moonton's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) has also been confirmed.

The 2024 tournament featured two MLBB events: the MLBB Mid Season Cup (MSC) and the MLBB Women's Invitational. Teams from around the globe competed in Riyadh. Selangor Red Giants secured victory in the MSC, while Smart Omega Empress triumphed in the Women's Invitational, ending Team Vitality's impressive 25-game winning streak.

A Significant, Yet Secondary, Event?

Most games from the 2024 Esports World Cup appear to be returning. However, many of the featured competitions aren't considered major championships in their respective games. The inclusion of MLBB's mid-season cup, for instance, might suggest the Esports World Cup is viewed as a supplementary event rather than the primary focus.

This has a double-edged effect. It's positive in that the EWC avoids overshadowing established leagues, but negative in that it might be perceived as secondary to the main MLBB events.

Regardless, fans of MLBB will undoubtedly welcome its return to this prestigious tournament.
