The Animal Festival in Fields of Mistria is an annual event, akin to other seasonal town festivities. If you miss it one year due to other in-game commitments or it simply slips your mind, rest assured you can participate the following year.

The festival rolls around on the 10th day of the Winter season. Depending on your current position in the seasonal cycle, this gives you plenty of time to focus on acquiring and nurturing your farm animals. Ensuring they are in top condition is crucial for securing the grand prize at the festival.

How to Win Animal Festival in Fields of Mistria

The main attraction of the Animal Festival is the contest where you can enter up to two of your farm-raised animals to compete for prizes. You can choose one small animal (such as chickens, ducks, or rabbits) and one large animal (such as cows, alpacas, or sheep). Remember, only fully grown adults can participate in the contest.

How to Enter the Animal Festival Contest

To enter, make your way to the festival grounds in the center of town and speak with Josephine at the front counter. She will guide you to the two booths located behind her where you can register your animals.

Josephine will also provide two key tips that can influence your score. Firstly, the higher the number of hearts your animal has, the better your score will be. You can boost your animal's heart level by petting or picking them up, feeding them, and allowing them outdoor time on sunny days.

The scene then shifts to the large animal category. If you beat Hayden’s cow Sunshine and take first place, you'll be crowned the winner of this category as well.

At the end of the judging, you will receive a list of prizes based on your performance. Entering the contest during your first year can be challenging, as achieving first place largely depends on the condition and heart levels of your animals.
