Nerscylla, the giant spider from *Monster Hunter Wilds*, is a creature that strikes fear into the hearts of many, especially those with arachnophobia. Not only does it serve as a source of high-affinity weapons, but it might also haunt your dreams if you've seen the *Monster Hunter* film. Let's dive into the strategies you need to conquer this formidable foe.

How to Beat Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Wilds

Nerscylla's weaknesses include Fire and Thunder (particularly effective once its mantle is broken), while it resists Sleep and is immune to Sonic Bombs. This agile spider uses its web abilities to pin you down, poison you with its bite, and even put you to sleep with its rear stinger. Its status effect capabilities make it a dangerous adversary, so always carry antidotes for sleep and poison to stay in the fight.

Be vigilant for two main types of attacks: bite/pincer attacks and web attacks. The bite attack is signaled by Nerscylla rearing back with its orange fangs protruding, followed by a forward rush and a slam that inflicts poison and massive damage. To evade this, position yourself behind the spider or simply retreat swiftly.

Nerscylla's web attacks can be direct or involve shooting three webs at different angles. Getting caught in the web immobilizes you, but you can dodge these attacks. The spider can also charge at you horizontally with its web, which requires you to either block or dodge sideways. Another web attack sees Nerscylla swinging up like Spider-Man; again, moving sideways will help you avoid this maneuver.

How to Capture Nerscylla in Monster Hunter Wilds

To capture Nerscylla, preparation is key. Equip yourself with a Pitfall Trap, a Shock Trap, and Tranq Bombs—while you technically need only one trap and two Tranq Bombs, it's wise to bring extras given the unpredictable nature of *Monster Hunter Wilds*.

Engage Nerscylla in combat until it's nearly defeated. Indicators of its weakened state include limping, comments from NPC teammates about its vulnerability, and a small skull icon appearing next to its symbol on the mini-map. Once Nerscylla is sufficiently weakened, set a trap, lure it in, and throw two Tranq Bombs to successfully capture this daunting beast.
