How to Find Solanium in No Man's Sky
Solanium is similar to Frost Crystals, but instead of icy planets, you'll find it on scorching hot worlds. Before landing, use your ship's scanner to identify planets with hot, dry climates – look for terms like "Arid," "Incandescent," "Boiling," or "Scorched Planet." The scanner will also list Solanium as a resource if present.
Once landed, deploy your Analysis Visor to locate Solar Vines – tall, rock-like structures with glowing vines. These plants cluster together. You'll need a Haz-Mat Gauntlet to harvest them. While you're there, consider gathering Phosphorus deposits if available; they're crucial for crafting Solanium later.
How to Farm Solanium in No Man's Sky
After progressing the Farmer's Agricultural Research mission, you can farm Solar Vines at your base. Construct a Hydroponic Tray or Bio-Dome and plant Solar Vines using 50 Solanium and 50 Phosphorus. If your base is on a hot planet, you can plant them directly in the ground.
Allow approximately 16 real-time hours for the Solar Vines to mature before harvesting.
How to Craft Solanium in No Man's Sky
Several Refiner recipes create Solanium, most requiring Phosphorus (often found on hot planets). Alternatively, purchase Phosphorus from traders or Galactic Trade Terminals. Here are the Solanium crafting recipes:
- Solanium + Phosphorus (to create more Solanium)
- Phosphorus + Oxygen
- Phosphorus + Sulphurine
- Di-hydrogen + Sulphurine
Note that all these recipes, including those using Sulphurine, necessitate a visit to a hot planet. To ensure a consistent Sulphurine supply, gather ample Phosphorus and establish a farm at your base.
