The preview also highlights unique mechanics for the set. This includes Summons, which are part of Magic's first-ever Saga creatures that players can summon for battlefield assistance (exemplified by Summon: Shiva). Double-faced cards also return, as showcased by Cecil's dual forms: Dark Knight and Redeemed Paladin.
In total, the Final Fantasy set will boast over 100 legendary creature cards. This includes 55 borderless legendary cards, some illustrated by celebrated artists from throughout the Final Fantasy series' history.
Magic: The Gathering's Final Fantasy set will be a fully draftable, Standard-legal release. It launches alongside four preconstructed Commander decks, each themed around a different Final Fantasy title: VI, VII, X, and XIV. Each 100-card deck will contain a mix of new Final Fantasy cards and existing cards reimagined with new Final Fantasy artwork. The worldwide release is set for June 13.
