Larian Seeks Players to Test Baldur

Larian has announced via a Steam post that the Patch 8 stress test build for *Baldur’s Gate 3* will be launching in January. Players can access this build on Steam for PC, as well as on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Unfortunately, those using Mac or GOG platforms will not have access to this stress test. The registration form for this event is currently open and accepting interest.

Prior to the official release of Patch 8, Larian has committed to rigorously testing the update to address any instability or gameplay issues. "With your help, we’ll be able to keep an eye on any funny business," the developer stated. A significant part of this testing phase includes the evaluation of crossplay functionality. Larian highlighted the complexity of implementing crossplay in a game as expansive as *Baldur’s Gate 3*, saying, "Bringing crossplay to a game the size of Baldur’s Gate 3 has been no easy task," and they are eager for player assistance in testing this new feature.

Larian encourages players to share the stress test registration link with friends to organize crossplay campaigns or to join the Larian Studios Discord Server to find groups to play with.

Although Patch 8 marks the final major update for *Baldur’s Gate 3*, Larian has assured continued support for the game's modding community. They have promised "big updates still to come," with additional tools and features designed to enhance players' ability to craft their own narratives. Since the release of the official mod tools in September, the community has downloaded over 70 million modules and created over 3,000 mods, showcasing the vibrant modding scene surrounding the game.
