Hideo Kojima, the visionary behind Death Stranding, has revealed plans to mark the 10th anniversary of his independent studio, Kojima Productions, with a special event in Tokyo later this month.
Hosted personally by Kojima, the celebratory event, titled Beyond The Strand, will feature guest appearances and provide a sneak peek into upcoming projects. It is scheduled for September 23, 2025, at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo, Japan.
Local fans can enter a lottery for a chance to purchase a ticket priced at ¥7700 (approximately $50) when sales begin tomorrow, September 2. Alternatively, the event will be available to stream online.
At this stage, it seems unlikely we will see substantial details on Kojima's enigmatic PlayStation title, Physint, as the developer recently confirmed the game is still in the conceptual phase. More probable is an update on his horror project, OD, which continues its development in partnership with Microsoft, despite Xbox's recent cancellation of several internal and external initiatives.
Kojima first announced his collaboration with Xbox on OD in November 2022, officially unveiling the project along with key cast members at The Game Awards 2023. At that time, it was revealed he is working with filmmaker Jordan Peele to craft a horror experience "unlike anything seen before."
While Hideo Kojima is renowned for creating the influential stealth franchise Metal Gear, that does not mean he'll be playing the upcoming remake, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater. When recently asked if he planned to play it, he laughed and responded, "No, I won't." However, Konami's Metal Gear series producer, Noriaki Okamura, has expressed interest in collaborating with Kojima again on the stealth series.
