Insomniac Games, the creative minds behind the beloved Ratchet and Clank series, are exploring further opportunities in game-to-screen adaptations. This exciting news comes from co-Studio Head Ryan Schneider, who shared the studio's enthusiasm during a recent interview with Variety. The discussion took place following the announcement of the retirement of Insomniac's founder and long-time CEO, Ted Price.

Schneider reminisced about the 2016 Ratchet and Clank film, which, despite receiving mixed reviews, sparked the studio's interest in further adaptations. "I think back to the Ratchet and Clank film from several years ago. And we kind of got an early start on that. So, of course, we’re interested in that kind of thing. We love Ratchet and Clank in particular," Schneider stated. With Insomniac's acquisition by Sony in 2019, the studio feels confident in their future endeavors, buoyed by Sony's successful track record in adapting games into films and TV series, notably with the critically acclaimed The Last of Us.

In a significant transition for Insomniac Games, founder and CEO Ted Price announced his retirement after an illustrious 30-year career. Price, who has been instrumental in the development of iconic franchises such as Spyro the Dragon, Ratchet & Clank, and Marvel’s Spider-Man, shared that his decision to retire was made the previous year. "For me, after over 30 years of leading Insomniac, I felt it was simply time to step aside and let others pave the way for our team," Price explained.

Taking the helm are three seasoned Insomniac veterans: Ryan Schneider, Chad Dezern, and Jen Huang, who will serve as co-Studio Heads. Price expressed his confidence in the new leadership, stating, "I believe strongly that for us to continue our success, we need leaders at the top who are intimately familiar with how we do things, leaders who have helped build our culture and our processes, and who have earned people’s trust."
