Hideaki Nishino will become the sole CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE), effective April 1, 2025. This announcement, part of a press release issued this evening, also reveals that Sony CFO Hiroki Totoki is promoted to President and CEO of Sony Corporation, replacing Kenichiro Yoshida who served since April 2018. Lin Tao, SVP of finance, corporate development and strategy, is promoted to CFO.
Last year, SIE leadership was split between Nishino and Hermen Hulst following Jim Ryan's retirement. Hulst led PlayStation Studios, while Nishino oversaw hardware and technology. This restructuring places Nishino at the helm of all SIE operations, including the platform business group. Hulst remains CEO of PlayStation Studios.
Nishino, a Sony employee since 2000, previously served as SVP of the platform experience group.
"I am truly honored to lead Sony Interactive Entertainment," Nishino stated. "Our strengths lie in technology and creativity as we focus on delivering entertainment experiences. We will expand the PlayStation community through IP growth and technological innovation. I thank Hermen for his expertise and leadership, and I'm deeply grateful for the PlayStation community's continued support. I'm excited about the future."
