PlayStation Productions Unveils Ambitious Slate of Game Adaptations at CES 2025
PlayStation Productions made a significant splash at CES 2025, announcing a wave of new video game adaptations slated for release in 2025 and beyond. The January 7th presentation showcased a diverse range of projects, spanning anime series and feature films.

-
The Last of Us Season Two: Neil Druckmann, while briefly discussing Naughty Dog's upcoming Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, also unveiled a new trailer for The Last of Us season two, confirming the adaptation of storylines from The Last of Us Part II, introducing characters like Abby and Dina.
A History of PlayStation Productions Adaptations:
This ambitious expansion of PlayStation Productions' portfolio builds upon previous successes. While earlier adaptations like Resident Evil and Silent Hill, though commercially successful, faced criticism from fans, PlayStation Productions' more recent efforts have seen greater critical and commercial success. Uncharted (2022) and Gran Turismo (2023) both exceeded box office expectations. The Twisted Metal series, while not as universally lauded as The Last of Us, completed production on its second season in late 2024. (Season 2 release date is still pending).
Future projects in development include films based on Days Gone and a sequel to the Uncharted film, along with a God of War television series.
The continued success and expansion of PlayStation Productions suggest a strong future for video game adaptations, driven by the increasing demand for high-quality adaptations of beloved franchises.
