First-Ever Mobile Game Based on Made in Abyss Universe Announced

Avex Pictures has unveiled an exciting new addition to the *Made in Abyss* universe with the announcement of a mobile game titled *Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey*. This marks the first time the captivating story of *Made in Abyss* will be experienced on mobile devices. The game's development was announced alongside the launch of its official X account, which is expected to serve as a platform for future updates as the game approaches its release.

Currently, details about the gameplay remain scarce, but it's confirmed that *Made in Abyss: A Difficult and Mysterious Journey* will be a casual mobile title, initially available on Android and iOS platforms in Japan. There has been no mention yet of plans for a global rollout, leaving international fans eagerly awaiting further announcements.

Dived into the Abyss Yet?

For those unfamiliar with the *Made in Abyss* series, it began as a manga in 2012, penned by Akihito Tsukushi and serialized on Web Comic Gamma. The story centers around Riko, a young orphan residing in the town of Orth, which encircles the enigmatic and perilous Abyss—a colossal vertical chasm teeming with ancient technology, bizarre creatures, and an enthralling mystery that consumes explorers.

Riko's ambition is to emulate her mother, Lyza, a renowned White Whistle Cave Raider who vanished within the depths of the Abyss. On her journey, Riko encounters Reg, a mysterious half-robot boy with no recollection of his origins. Together, they embark on a perilous descent into the Abyss, fully aware that their journey might be one-way.

The *Made in Abyss* manga was adapted into an anime series in 2017, followed by a sequel film, *Dawn of the Deep Soul*, released in Japan in 2020. Additionally, in 2022, Chime Corporation released a console and PC RPG, *Made in Abyss: Binary Star Falling into Darkness*, further expanding the franchise's reach across different gaming platforms.
