The *Animal Friends* mod by annanomoly on Nexus Mods is your answer. This mod not only automates petting but also feeds your animals. Important note: you'll need the *Mods of Mistria Installer* to use this mod – it won't work without it.
Here's how to install the *Animal Friends* mod:
- Create a new folder named "Mods" in your *Fields of Mistria* game directory.
- Download the AnimalFriends.zip file and place it inside the "Mods" folder.
- Extract the contents of the zip file. You can then delete or move the original zip file.
- Run the *Mods of Mistria Installer* to install the mod.
The *Animal Friends* mod offers customizable features beyond auto-petting and auto-feeding. You can also enable a friendship multiplier (increasing the hearts your animals gain) and a feature to prevent friendship loss.
To adjust settings, find the AnimalFriends.json file within the extracted mod folder. This is a simple text file. To enable a feature, change "false" to "true". For example, to enable auto-feeding: ["auto-feed": true]. To disable, change "true" to "false".
The friendship multiplier works slightly differently. Instead of "true" or "false", input a number between 1 and 100. A higher number significantly boosts friendship gains; setting it to 1 disables the feature.
By default, auto-petting and auto-feeding are off upon initial installation. However, the mod automatically activates the "prevent friendship loss" feature and multiplies heart gains from petting by five.
To remove the mod, don't simply delete the folder. Use the *Mods of Mistria Installer* to uninstall properly, preventing potential save file corruption.
Before installing any mod, always back up your save game. While generally stable, it’s wise to be prepared.
