Feral Interactive Releases Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

Exciting news for fans of the classic strategy game, *ROME: Total War*, on Android! Feral Interactive has just rolled out the massive Imperium Update, bringing a host of gameplay enhancements, control improvements, and quality-of-life features to enrich your gaming experience. If you've been enjoying this iconic title since its Android debut in 2018, you're in for a treat with the latest improvements and new features. And don't worry if you're a fan of the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander; they're slated to receive the same update next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update integrates some of the most beloved features from Feral’s more recent mobile releases, such as *Total War: MEDIEVAL II* and *EMPIRE*. Here's what you can expect:

  • New Control Options: ROME: Total War now boasts three new control modes: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These options enhance your command over units and make battles more precise. You can now simply tap and hold to move your army, agents, or fleets, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.
  • Positioning Mode: Fine-tune your unit placements with ease by tapping and holding. The Group Grid feature also simplifies managing unit groups with a collapsible selection menu.
  • Melee Mode: This mode allows ranged units to seamlessly switch to close combat when the situation demands it.
  • Command Slowdown: One of the standout features is the Command Slowdown, which automatically slows the game down when you're issuing complex orders, ensuring you never miss a beat.
  • Keyboard and Mouse Support: For the first time, Android (and iPad) users can enjoy the precision of keyboard and mouse controls.
  • Minimap Redesign: Inspired by *MEDIEVAL II*, the minimap now features smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly revert to the default view.

The Imperium Update is now live and ready for you to download from the Google Play Store if you own *ROME: Total War* on Android. Keep an eye out for the updates coming to Barbarian Invasion and Alexander next week, and be sure to check them out once they go live.
