Nintendo's San Francisco store opens its doors today, May 15, located in Union Square at 331 Powell Street. This marks the second official Nintendo store in the United States, following the highly successful New York location. Previously known as the Nintendo World Store, the New York venue underwent renovations and rebranded as Nintendo NY before reopening in 2016.
IGN visited the new San Francisco location to explore what Nintendo has in store. We also sat down with Nintendo of America President Doug Bowser to discuss the company's decision to establish its first West Coast store at this time.

We naturally inquired about the Nintendo Switch 2, scheduled to launch on June 5. Bowser addressed questions regarding the console's availability in the U.S. at launch and in the future, the debated Game-Key Cards, and other related topics.
