A free demo for Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's spin-off, Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean (working title), is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.
RGG Studio made the announcement on X/Twitter, stating the demo's release at 7am Pacific / 10am Eastern / 3pm UK time. The full game launches February 21st, also on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, but these platforms will not receive the demo.
While RGG Studio hasn't confirmed demo save transfer to the full game, the demo's content suggests otherwise. It allows players to bypass the early game, granting access to freeroam areas and battles not initially available in the main story.
The demo offers:
- Free exploration of Honolulu and Madlantis locations.
- Access to "Mad Dog" and "Sea Dog" fighting styles.
- Battles against powerful bounty enemies.
- Four ship and deck battles in the Pirates' Coliseum.
- New customization features.
- Karaoke with three selectable songs.
Like a Dragon: Pirate of the Caribbean follows Goro Majima's amnesiac pirate adventure in Hawaii. An October Xbox Partner Showcase trailer showcased ship combat reminiscent of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and the return of Taiga Saejima, hinting at stronger ties to the main series.
The game's estimated playtime is 15-18 hours, significantly longer than Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Players can unlock a Kiryu Kazuma costume by subscribing to email notifications or a Sega rewards program.
