Surprise Patch for Dishonored 2: Bug Fixes and Language Updates
Dishonored 2, a critically acclaimed Bethesda title for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, has received an unexpected small update across PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms. This minor patch appears focused on bug fixes and language file updates. The update's size is relatively small (230MB), although Xbox users report needing a full 40GB re-download.
Arkane Lyon, the studio behind Dishonored 2 and the recent Deathloop, is currently occupied with development of Marvel's Blade. This contrasts with the closure of Arkane Austin (responsible for the original Dishonored and Prey) as part of the 2024 Xbox studio restructuring.
The update's arrival has sparked hope among fans, though not for the reason many anticipated. While other Arkane titles offer 60 FPS performance on newer consoles, Dishonored 2 remains locked at 30 FPS. The lack of a performance enhancement in this patch has led to some disappointment. A potential 60 FPS update might be considered for the game's tenth anniversary in 2026, although this remains speculative.
The possibility of a third mainline Dishonored game remains uncertain, further complicated by Arkane Austin's closure. Currently, Arkane Lyon's focus is entirely on its upcoming Marvel's Blade project, with no confirmed release date.
