Crytek Announces Restructuring, Layoffs, and Crysis Game Delay
Crytek has announced a restructuring plan involving staff reductions and a delay in the next Crysis game. The company, facing financial difficulties, confirmed layoffs affecting approximately 60 employees—around 15% of its 400-person workforce.
This restructuring also resulted in the temporary suspension of development on the next Crysis title, a decision made in Q3 2024. Crytek explored reassigning affected staff to other projects, including Hunt: Showdown 1896, but determined this wasn't feasible despite cost-cutting measures.

The studio's immediate focus will be expanding content for Hunt: Showdown 1896. The new Crysis game is now indefinitely delayed. Crytek assures laid-off employees will receive severance packages and career support.
While acknowledging the challenges, Crytek remains positive about its future, emphasizing continued development of Hunt: Showdown 1896 and its CRYENGINE technology.
