Bring Large Dung Pods

Facing Hirabami can be daunting as they tend to group up, making the fight more challenging. Equip yourself with Large Dung Pods to disperse these monsters, allowing you to tackle them individually and increase your chances of success.

Use Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger Ammo

Hirabami's tendency to float in the air poses a unique challenge, especially for melee weapon users. To ground them, utilize Heavy Slicing Pod Slinger ammo, which can be crafted from the Tail Claw Shard dropped by cutting off their tail.

Utilize Environmental Traps

The Iceshard Cliffs offer environmental traps like Ice Spikes, Floating Rubble, and Brittle Ice Pillars. Strategically using these can stun and damage Hirabami, giving you a significant advantage in the battle.

Aim for the Head

Targeting Hirabami's head is crucial for dealing maximum damage, though their aerial habits make this difficult for melee fighters. Ranged weapon users have an easier time, while melee users should aim for the neck when the creature descends.

Watch the Tail

Hirabami's unpredictable movements include biting, spitting, and dive-bombing attacks. Stay vigilant and mobile, but also keep an eye on their tail, which they can swing like a hammer.

To capture Hirabami, reduce its health to 20% or less, signaled by a skull icon on the mini-map. Quickly set up a Pitfall Trap or Shock Trap, and follow up with a Tranquilizer to put the monster to sleep. Timing is critical as any delay could lead to the creature's escape. Capturing Hirabami ends the fight, yielding standard rewards but reducing the chance of extra materials from weak spots.

With these strategies, you're well-equipped to handle the Hirabami in *Monster Hunter Wilds*. Don't forget to bring Large Dung Pods or use the SOS feature to make the fight more manageable. *Monster Hunter Wilds* is now available on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
