Hideo Kojima recently presented actress Shiori Kutsuna with flowers, acknowledging her contributions to the game. Kojima's message praised Kutsuna's dedication, highlighting her motion capture work in Los Angeles, 3D scanning sessions, and voice recording (both Japanese and English) across multiple locations, even navigating pandemic-related challenges.
Kutsuna's involvement reportedly began in Fall 2022. At Tokyo Game Show 2024, Kojima showcased Death Stranding 2: On the Beach with several two-minute cutscenes introducing key allies to the protagonist.
These scenes revealed George Miller as Tarman, captain of the tar-lake traversing mobile base, Magellan. Fatih Akin portrays Dollman, a former medium and living doll who lost his human form. Léa Seydoux returns as Fragile.
Elle Fanning plays Tomorrow, a mysterious character discovered in a death-like realm, echoing the original Death Stranding tagline: "Tomorrow is in your hands." One scene features the characters singing Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" while interacting with a pregnant woman named Rainy (played by Shiori Kutsuna).
