2025 promises groundbreaking developments for DC's flagship Batman comic. Following Chip Zdarsky's conclusion of his run with Batman #157, Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee will helm March's Hush 2 storyline. Subsequently, DC will relaunch Batman with a fresh #1 issue featuring a new creative team and redesigned aesthetic.

DC revealed during ComicsPro that acclaimed writer Matt Fraction (Uncanny X-Men, The Invincible Iron Man) will take over writing duties, collaborating with current artist Jorge Jiménez to introduce a vintage-inspired blue-and-gray Batsuit and redesigned Batmobile. "Batman was my first comic," Fraction shared. "Jorge and I are embracing a superhero-forward vision with new designs, characters, and returning favorites—everything that defines Batman as comics' premier icon."
The relaunched Batman #1 arrives September 2025.
DC also outlined Superman franchise developments continuing their "Summer of Superman" initiative. Supergirl returns with a fresh series and Stanley "Artgerm" Lau-designed costume, written and illustrated by Sophie Campbell (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles).

"This project reconnects me with my creator-owned roots," Campbell noted. "I'm drawing inspiration from Kara's 70s era, the 1984 film, and The CW series to craft our contemporary interpretation." Supergirl #1 launches May 14.
Meanwhile, Action Comics transitions to superstar writer Mark Waid (Justice League Unlimited) and artist Skylar Patridge (Resonant) focusing on Clark Kent's adolescent years. "We're exploring Superboy's formative experiences with updated Smallville aesthetics," Waid explained. This creative team debuts with Action Comics #1087 in June.
Rounding out announcements, DC All In introduces Krypto: The Last Dog of Krypton—a five-issue miniseries by Ryan North (Fantastic Four) and Mike Norton (Revival) delving into the canine hero's authentic perspective. "We're portraying Krypto as a real dog—no thought balloons or anthropomorphizing," North emphasized. The series begins June 18.
The ComicsPro event also revealed Marvel's plans for Zdarsky and Valerio Schiti's Captain America relaunch, alongside previews of Godzilla's expanded comic universe.
