In the latest wave of "here comes another Stephen King adaptation" news, fans are in for a thrilling treat: Netflix is gearing up to produce a fresh take on the iconic horror story, Cujo. According to Deadline, the project is still in its early stages, with Vertigo Entertainment's Roy Lee on board as a producer. However, no writers, directors, or cast members have been announced yet, so it's truly in its "puppy days."

Stephen King's Cujo was originally published in 1981 and swiftly adapted into a 1983 cult classic film by Don Carlos Dunaway, Barbara Turner, and directed by Lewis Teague. The chilling narrative centers on a determined mother, portrayed by Dee Wallace, who finds herself trapped in a car with her young son as they face the relentless threat of Cujo, a once-friendly dog turned deadly after being bitten by a rabid bat. With their car's engine dead and heatstroke looming, the duo must fight for their lives.
