As Shin Chan, or Shinnosuke, acclimates to rural life, he spends his days with his grandfather Ginnosuke, engaging in activities like fishing in Akita's rivers, bug-catching in the groves, and learning farming techniques from his grandmother. However, the plot thickens when their dog, Shiro, returns covered in soot and dashes away. Shin Chan follows him, leading to a mysterious train that transports him to the enigmatic Coal Town.
Coal Town feels like it’s been frozen since the Showa era
Coal Town transports players into a different world, reminiscent of the Showa era, with its bustling workers and retro ambiance. This town offers a stark contrast to the Noharas' peaceful rural life, featuring a children's park, diner, shops, restaurants, and an apartment block. While some elements are interactive, others serve as atmospheric backdrops.
Here, Shin Chan encounters Yuri, a young inventor, who enlists his help in gathering materials for her projects aimed at improving the lives of the town's residents. The plot thickens with the arrival of Yuri's older brother, Chuck, who introduces a 'waste-free' system that backfires, creating chaos. Shin Chan must assist Yuri in thwarting Chuck's plans and restoring harmony to Coal Town.
