CoD: Black Ops 6 Set to Debut Revolutionary Challenge Tracker

Treyarch is developing a much-requested feature for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6 at launch, leaving players frustrated.

While a release date remains unannounced, the feature is currently under development. With Season 2 launching later this month, players may not have long to wait. This update follows a recent patch (January 9th) addressing various bug fixes in Multiplayer and Zombies modes, including a reversal of controversial changes to Zombies' Directed Mode.

Challenge Tracking on the Horizon

Treyarch confirmed the challenge tracking feature's development via Twitter, responding directly to fan requests. The absence of this feature in Black Ops 6, despite its presence in the related Modern Warfare 3 and shared Call of Duty HQ app, sparked significant player disappointment. The ability to track progress towards Mastery camos, for example, will be a significant improvement to gameplay. The in-game tracker is expected to function similarly to Modern Warfare 3's system, providing real-time updates on challenge progress within the UI.

Further Improvements Planned

In addition to challenge tracking, Treyarch confirmed another significant improvement is in development: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies modes. This will eliminate the need for players to constantly adjust HUD settings when switching between game modes. Both features are currently "in the works," suggesting a substantial update is on the way for Black Ops 6.
