Embarking on your journey through the Ligneus Region with Yumia and your companions in *Atelier Yumia* introduces you to the delightful feature of camping. Understanding when and where you can set up camp can be a bit tricky, so here's a comprehensive guide on how to camp in *Atelier Yumia*.
How to Craft a Camping Set in Atelier Yumia
You'll unlock the ability to craft Camping Sets through Simple Synthesis after successfully clearing the manabound Dux Lighthouse, the first such area Yumia encounters in the story. Once you've built a base on the newly revealed land, return to the Ligneus Survey Base and chat with Erhard to unlock camping.
Crafting a Camping Set requires the following materials:
- 5% Energy
- 3 Wood
- 2 Water
- 5 Fiber
- 2 Charcoal
These materials are easily accessible around the Ligneus Survey Base. You can gather Water from wells scattered throughout the region or by harvesting plants along river shores, which also yield Fiber. Charcoal is obtained as a byproduct when you strike ore.
Once you have the materials, access the Simple Synthesis menu and ensure you have a 4×4 space available to craft your Camping Set. If you lack the space, the set will be stored in your stash at the Atelier or one of your bases.
Where to Camp in Atelier Yumia
With your Camping Set ready, you can set up camp in any open space. Avoid narrow cliffs or dense forests; instead, look for more open areas. There are numerous designated campsites, such as the River Campsite near the Ligneus Survey Base, where you can establish a temporary base.
If you have a Camping Set in your Exploration Bag, use the radial menu to check if the Camping option in the bottom right corner is highlighted. If it's greyed out, you won't be able to camp in that location.
What to Do While Camping in Atelier Yumia
Camping is your exclusive opportunity to cook the food you gather during your adventures. It's crucial to find a spot to rest before tackling a boss or entering a manabound area, especially on higher difficulty levels.
Additionally, camping allows you to engage in unique dialogues with your companions. While these conversations don't impact the main storyline, they offer a deeper understanding of your fellow travelers.
