Gearbox Software has revealed the official release date for Borderlands 4.
During a recent State of Play presentation, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford announced that Borderlands 4 will launch on September 23rd, 2025. To mark the occasion, Gearbox unveiled a new trailer showcasing exciting gameplay features.
A standout feature in the trailer is the introduction of a grappling hook. However, fans can still expect the series' signature blend of over-the-top weaponry, explosive action, and chaotic mayhem.
Further celebrating the announcement, Gearbox confirmed a dedicated Borderlands 4 State of Play showcase this spring. This special presentation will delve deeper into the gameplay mechanics and, of course, showcase a plethora of new weaponry.
While narrative details remain scarce, the lead writer previously hinted at a potential shift away from the previous game's reliance on "toilet humor." Whether Borderlands 4 adopts a more mature tone remains to be seen.
