Don't Nod, the studio behind Life is Strange, has unveiled the initial chapter of their latest narrative adventure. Players can currently experience "Tape 1," with "Tape 2" launching freely for all owners on April 15th.
Initially showcased in 2023, the game centers on a close-knit group of friends shattered in the summer of 1995. Twenty-seven years later, the specters of that summer resurface, unleashing unforeseen and terrifying repercussions.
Inspired by classics like It, Yellowjackets, and I Know What You Did Last Summer, the game expertly blends nostalgic elements with a chilling psychological thriller narrative. The game's structure is divided into two parts: "Bloom" and "Rage." As of February 18th, only "Bloom," the first half of this captivating story, is accessible.
The second part, "The Tape," will arrive on April 15th. Initially scheduled for March, the release was delayed to guarantee a refined gaming experience.
The review embargo has been lifted, with OpenCritic reporting an average score of 74/100—a promising start for this suspenseful mystery.
