Blizzard Announces Six New Warcraft Conventions

Blizzard's Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour: A Global Celebration

Blizzard Entertainment is commemorating three decades of Warcraft with a worldwide tour featuring six fan conventions. These intimate gatherings, scheduled between February 22nd and May 10th, will offer fans a unique opportunity to celebrate the franchise's rich history.

The tour replaces the traditional BlizzCon event, following Blizzard's decision to skip BlizzCon in 2024 and instead participate in events like Gamescom and launch the inaugural Warcraft Direct. This year's celebration acknowledges significant milestones, including World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, Hearthstone's 10th, and Warcraft Rumble's first anniversary.

The Warcraft 30th Anniversary World Tour Schedule:

  • February 22nd – London, United Kingdom
  • March 8th – Seoul, South Korea
  • March 15th – Toronto, Canada
  • April 3rd – Sydney, Australia
  • April 19th – Sao Paulo, Brazil
  • May 10th – Boston, United States (during PAX East)

Each convention promises live entertainment, engaging activities, and invaluable opportunities to connect with Warcraft developers. Unlike BlizzCon or Warcraft Direct, the focus will be on creating memorable experiences rather than major announcements.

Ticket Information:

Tickets for these exclusive events will be free but extremely limited. Blizzard suggests checking regional Warcraft channels for details on how to obtain tickets. The "intimate gathering" nature of these events emphasizes a personalized fan experience.

The Future of BlizzCon:

The future of BlizzCon remains uncertain. While a summer or autumn BlizzCon could be ideal for showcasing the upcoming World of Warcraft: Midnight expansion, including its highly anticipated player housing, Blizzard hasn't confirmed its return. The possibility of a biannual convention model, similar to Final Fantasy XIV's Fan Festival, remains open. Regardless, securing a spot at the Warcraft World Tour is highly recommended for a unique and immersive celebration of the Warcraft universe.
