Black and White Kyurem Debut at Pokémon Go Tour: Unova Global Event

Author : Aiden May 16,2025

The legendary Black Kyurem and White Kyurem are set to make their grand entrance during the Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global. These powerful Pokémon bring with them exciting new Adventure Effects that enhance your Pokémon catching experience outside of battles. Make the most of your experience with the Tour Pass, which can significantly boost your earnings throughout the event.

Black Kyurem’s signature move, Freeze Shock, envelops the area in electrically charged ice for 10 minutes, immobilizing wild Pokémon and making them easier to catch. On the other hand, White Kyurem’s Ice Burn slows down the target ring during encounters, helping you master those elusive Excellent Throws. Both effects can be extended in 10-minute increments, up to two hours at a time, with a total maximum of 24 hours.

During the event, you'll have the opportunity to challenge Black Kyurem and White Kyurem in five-star raids to earn Fusion Energy. After successfully fusing Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem that knows Glaciate, Freeze Shock or Ice Burn will take the place of Glaciate. Remember, these moves will revert back to Glaciate once the Pokémon are separated. Currently, Kyurem cannot learn these moves through Charged TM or Elite Charged TM.

You can also select between two event badges – the Black Version, featuring Reshiram, or the White Version, featuring Zekrom. Choosing the Black Version means that any Kyurem you encounter after defeating Black Kyurem will know Glaciate, and you'll receive Reshiram-themed Special Research rewards. Opting for the White Version will grant you Zekrom-themed Special Research rewards, with Kyurem encountered after defeating White Kyurem also knowing Glaciate.

To enhance your event experience, consider using the Tour Pass, which not only unlocks special rewards but also amplifies your Adventure Effects. You can earn Tour Points by catching Pokémon, completing raids, and hatching Eggs, or accelerate your progress with quick Pass Tasks. Each Major Milestone you reach will boost your Catch XP and extend the duration of either Freeze Shock or Ice Burn.

For those looking for the ultimate event experience, the Tour Pass Deluxe offers even more benefits. This premium version provides an immediate encounter with Victini, additional event-themed encounters, an avatar item, and the new Lucky Trinket. The Lucky Trinket is a one-time-use item that allows you to become Lucky Friends with a chosen friend from your list, enhancing your next trade.

The Pokémon Go Tour: Unova – Global event will run from February 24th to March 2nd. Don't miss out on this thrilling opportunity to engage with Black Kyurem and White Kyurem and maximize your rewards with the Tour Pass!
