Mastering the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies Staff of Ice Upgrade
The Staff of Ice, a unique Wonder Weapon in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Zombies, starts weak but transforms into a high-round powerhouse. This guide details its upgrade process on The Tomb map.
Upgrade Prerequisites:
Before upgrading, you need the Staff of Ice itself. Obtain it from the Mystery Box or by collecting its three components. Early access to the Dark Aether Nexus (via the Door to Nowhere) is crucial.
Upgrade Steps:
Step 1: Freezing Dark Aether Crystals
Freeze three Dark Aether Crystals rapidly using the Staff of Ice. These crystals are within underground Dark Aether lanterns (black frame, purple fire). Perks like Stamin-Up and PHD Flopper (with Tribologist) significantly aid this step. Optimize your route; the most efficient path involves the tomb area, the Shrine of the Hierophants, and the Subterranean Temple entrance lantern (avoiding the lantern near Quick Revive). Successful completion triggers a quote from Archibald, signaling progression to the Dark Aether Nexus.
Step 2: Dark Aether Nexus Floating Rocks
Locate three floating rocks in the Dark Aether Nexus, each displaying a glowing purple Rune. Shoot each Rune with the Staff of Ice (a hitmarker confirms success). This lowers the rocks, making Rune identification easier. A sniper rifle might improve accuracy. The order is irrelevant; shoot all three.
Step 3: Rune Symbol Puzzle
A stone wall replaces a portal back to the main map. Locate the corresponding area and find a wall with Runic icons. Shoot the three icons matching the Runes from the floating rocks. The portal opens regardless of accuracy, but incorrect symbols teleport you back to the Dark Aether Nexus from mid-air. Multiple failures might require waiting for the next round. Correct symbols lead to a floating rock and a purple orb. Interact with the orb.
Step 4: Soul Chest Orb Escort
The Orb moves; kill zombies near it to fuel its progress. The Orb's purple trail shows the absorbed zombie essence. Guide it to the central Dark Aether Nexus structure, where it creates a small purple portal. Interact to upgrade the Staff of Ice to Ull's Arrow.
Ull's Arrow Abilities:
Ull's Arrow boasts a powerful charged AoE attack and an alternate fire for reviving downed players, mirroring the weapon from Black Ops 2 and 3.
