Iconic Bethesda voice actor Wes Johnson, known for his roles in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, Fallout 3, Starfield, and numerous other titles, was found "barely alive" in his hotel room last week. His family is reaching out to fans for support during this challenging time.

As reported by PC Gamer, Johnson's wife, Kim, along with other family members, have launched a GoFundMe campaign to help cover his medical expenses and bills while he is unable to work. The campaign page states, "Right now, Wes continues to battle for his life in an intensive care unit."

Johnson had volunteered to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer’s Foundation in Atlanta on January 22. After flying down and checking into his hotel, concerns arose when he did not appear at the scheduled event. "When he didn’t show up at the event, his wife Kim tried desperately to get in touch with him," the GoFundMe post explained. "It took hotel security to enter his room and discover him unconscious and barely alive. Emergency medical technician crews struggled to find a pulse."

The GoFundMe campaign aimed to raise $50,000, but the generosity of fans has surpassed this goal, with contributions totaling $144,791 from over 2,200 supporters. In addition to his renowned video game voice acting, Johnson has served as the public address announcer for the Washington Capitals for 25 years and has an extensive portfolio in film and television.

Johnson's contributions to the gaming world are primarily through Bethesda games. He most recently voiced Ron Hope in Starfield. His other notable roles include the Prince of Madness Sheogorath and Lucien Lachance in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion, three Daedric Princes (Boethiah, Malacath, and Molag Bal) in The Elder Scrolls 3: Morrowind, Fawkes and Maister Burke in Fallout 3, Hermaeus Mora and Emperor Titus Mede II in Skyrim, and Moe Cronin in Fallout 4, among others.
