The Quematrice, a giant, chicken-like beast reminiscent of a Cockatrice, breathes fire instead of turning hunters to stone—thankfully! Its mid-size makes it vulnerable to most weapon types, but its area-of-effect attacks might favor weapons with range for less experienced hunters.

While its tail swipes and strikes can inflict damage, the most potent attack is its tail slam. This involves a dramatic upward swing followed by a powerful ground impact. Sidestepping or blocking effectively negates this attack.

However, its fiery attacks are the real threat. These not only deal direct damage but also inflict burning, steadily draining your health, and can even ignite the ground. These attacks are less telegraphed. One involves a slight head rear and roar, followed by a fiery blast from its tail. Another is a sweeping fire attack performed after a head and tail raise.
