How to Respec Your Character in Avowed (& When You Want To)

Starting a new game, it's tough to predict which character type will click with you the most. That's where respeccing comes into play. If your current setup isn't hitting the mark, it's time to consider a respec. In *Avowed*, I initially went for a full wizard build, only to find myself struggling in combat. Switching to a spellsword was a game-changer. As you progress, you might want to respec again to optimize your combat effectiveness and achieve your dream build.

To respec your abilities in *Avowed*, head into the menu and select the “Abilities” section. Scroll down to find the “Reset Points” option. The initial cost is 100 Copper Skeyt, which increases as you advance in the game. Confirm your choice, pay the fee, and all your ability points will be refunded across all skill trees, except for the “Godlike” abilities, which are locked and determined by in-game choices.

If you're satisfied with your abilities but want to tweak your attributes, or perhaps overhaul everything, navigate to the “Character” section in the menu. At the bottom, you'll find a button to respec your attribute points with an associated cost that also starts at 100 Copper Skeyt and increases over time. Select the button, pay the cost, and enjoy the freedom to reallocate your Attribute points.

Below your companion's name, you'll see an icon and a button to respec them. Click the button, pay the required Copper Skeyt, and confirm your choice to retrieve all the character’s points. Remember, each companion must be respecced individually.

And there you have it—that's how you can respec in *Avowed* and fine-tune your gameplay experience. With these steps, you can experiment and find the perfect build for your adventure.
