Exciting news for fans of the Avatar universe: Nickelodeon and Avatar Studios have officially announced a brand-new series titled "Avatar: Seven Havens" to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the iconic "Avatar: The Last Airbender." This series is being brought to life by the original creators, Michael DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, promising an enthralling addition to the beloved franchise.

"Avatar: Seven Havens" will consist of 26 episodes spread across two seasons, each featuring 13 episodes. The series will be crafted in 2D animation and will follow the journey of a young Earthbender who emerges as the next Avatar after Korra. Set in a world fractured by a devastating cataclysm, this new Avatar finds herself in a perilous situation where her title marks her as a destroyer rather than a savior. As she faces threats from both human and spirit enemies, she, alongside her long-lost twin, must delve into their mysterious origins to protect the Seven Havens—the last bastions of civilization.

DiMartino and Konietzko expressed their enthusiasm, stating, "When we created the original series, we never imagined we’d still be expanding the world decades later. This new incarnation of the Avatarverse is full of fantasy, mystery, and a whole new cast of amazing characters." They are co-creating the series with executive producers Ethan Spaulding and Sehaj Sethi. While the cast for "Avatar: Seven Havens" has yet to be announced, anticipation is already building among fans.

This marks the first mainline TV series from Avatar Studios, who are also working on a full-length animated movie featuring adult Aang. Scheduled for a theatrical release on January 30, 2026, this movie promises to take audiences on a new adventure with the beloved character.

In addition to the new series and movie, Avatar Studios is celebrating the 20th anniversary with a variety of new content and merchandise. This includes new books, comics, concerts, toys, and even a game in Roblox, ensuring that fans have plenty of ways to engage with the expanding Avatar universe.
