In *Assassin’s Creed Shadows*, you can unlock various animals for your Hideout by interacting with them. Each time Naoe or Yasuke pets a cat or dog of a breed they haven’t encountered before, that specific animal becomes available for your Hideout. This includes a diverse range of dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens, such as the stray you save in the pre-order DLC quest "Thrown to the Dogs."
Yasuke also has a unique way to unlock smaller animals by painting them. You might come across rabbits, fox kits, tanukis, and monkeys in the wild, and documenting them through painting will unlock these critters for your Hideout.

How to Add Animals to the Hideout in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
