Artifacts are crucial in Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl, boosting Skif's stats. Locating them requires an artifact detector. The detector's effectiveness significantly impacts the ease of artifact acquisition. Stalker 2 offers four distinct detectors, each detailed below, along with acquisition methods.
Echo Detector: A Basic Artifact Finder
The Echo Detector is your starting tool in Stalker 2, serving you for a considerable portion of the game. This compact yellow device features a central light tube that pulses when an artifact is within range. The pulse rate and beeping frequency increase as you approach the artifact, providing a basic, albeit sometimes slow, detection method.
Bear Detector: An Enhanced Detection Tool
Obtained either during the "A Sign of Hope" side mission or from a vendor, the Bear Detector surpasses the Echo Detector. It provides a visual distance indicator to the artifact. Concentric rings around the display illuminate progressively as you near the artifact. Full illumination signals proximity to the artifact's spawn point.
Hilka Detector: Precise Artifact Location
Acquired during the "Mysterious Case" side mission from Sultan, the Hilka Detector is a more advanced tool. It displays numerical values correlating to the artifact's position within the anomalous field. Decreasing numbers indicate closer proximity to the artifact.
Veles Detector: The Pinnacle of Artifact Detection in Stalker 2
The Veles Detector, earned by completing the "In Search of Past Glory" main mission, is the game's best artifact detector. Its radar display precisely pinpoints the artifact's location within the anomalous field, simultaneously highlighting nearby hazardous anomalies to enhance player safety.
