Ubisoft Mainz has unveiled exciting new details about Anno 1800: Pax Romana in a recently released trailer. While previous announcements highlighted exploration of Lazio and Albion, the trailer suggests Lazio serves as a prologue before the main game unfolds in Albion.
Creative Director Manuel Rainer explains that Lazio starts as a peaceful region, but a catastrophic event forces players to venture into the uncharted territories of Britain (Albion). Albion presents a stark contrast, characterized by harsh weather, rebellious tribes, and its geographical distance from Rome, creating significant governance challenges.
Players take on the role of a governor, tasked with overcoming these obstacles through diplomacy as well as might. Success isn't solely reliant on military force; players can foster harmony by respecting local customs and traditions. A unique feature allows for strategic ship customization, offering choices between speed enhancements via oarsmen or increased firepower with onboard archery turrets.
Anno 1800: Pax Romana is scheduled for release in 2025 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S/X.
