Alienware Aurora R16 RTX 5080 Gaming PC Launched at $2,399

Author : Amelia May 07,2025

Starting today, Dell is offering an exceptional deal on the Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC, now equipped with the cutting-edge GeForce RTX 5080 GPU for just $2,399.99, including shipping. This price point represents one of the most competitive offers for an RTX 5080 prebuilt system available in the market, especially considering the price hikes other brands have implemented since the RTX 50 series debuted in January. For comparison, Dell's next cheapest RTX 5080 prebuilt system is listed over $4,000. If you're considering building your own PC, finding a standalone RTX 5080 GPU could cost you as much as this entire Alienware setup.

Alienware Aurora R16 Intel Core Ultra 7 265F RTX 5080 Gaming PC

$2,399.99 at Alienware

The Alienware Aurora R16 comes packed with an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F CPU, a GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 265F, a Meteor Lake processor, boasts a maximum turbo frequency of 5.3GHz, 20 cores, and a 30MB cache. Cooling is handled by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler, and the system is powered by a 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 5080 is part of the new Blackwell series, which has been incredibly hard to find since its release. In our Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE review, Jackie notes, "If you already have a high-end graphics card from the last couple of years, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 doesn’t make a lot of sense – it just doesn’t have much of a performance lead over the RTX 4080, though the extra frames from DLSS 4 Multi-Frame Generation do make things look better in games that support it. However, for gamers with an older graphics card who want a significant performance boost, the RTX 5080 absolutely provides – doubly so if you’re comfortable with Nvidia’s AI goodies."

New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis

Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis retains a design similar to the 2024 R16 system but features minor aesthetic and cooling redesigns alongside updated components. The I/O panel is now located at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window spans the entire side panel. Air intakes are positioned at the bottom and front of the case, promoting a positive airflow design to keep the interior less dusty. The internal components have been upgraded with a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

RTX 5080 and 5090 GPUs Are Sold Out Everywhere

The initial release of Nvidia GeForce RTX 50-series graphics cards sold out within the first hour of preorders. The RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 were the first to be released, followed by the RTX 5070 Ti in February. Prebuilt gaming PCs with these new GPUs have similarly faced stock shortages, price increases, or extended delivery delays.
