When it comes to high-end prebuilt PCs, the prices can be steep, but savvy shoppers know that there are still ways to snag incredible deals. Right now, Dell is offering a remarkable discount on the Alienware Aurora R16 equipped with a GeForce RTX 4090, bringing the price down to $3,699.99 after a $1,000 instant discount. With RTX 4090 graphics cards increasing in price and standalone cards costing at least $2,000 from reputable sellers, building your own PC might not be as cost-effective as you think. Opting for a prebuilt PC like this one not only saves you money but also provides the benefit of an all-inclusive warranty.

This Alienware Aurora R16 gaming PC is packed with top-tier components, including an Intel Core i9-14900KF CPU, a GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 64GB of DDR5-5200MHz RAM, and a spacious 4TB NVMe SSD. The 14th gen Intel Core i9-14900KF is currently the pinnacle of Intel's gaming CPUs and excels in productivity tasks as well. Known for running hot, this CPU is kept cool by a robust 240mm all-in-one liquid cooler. The system is powered by a reliable 1,000W 80PLUS Platinum power supply.

The RTX 4090 stands as the most powerful GPU available, outpacing all competitors from both NVIDIA and AMD. In his review, Chris Coke praised the RTX 4090, stating, "The RTX 4090 may be huge and expensive, but holy smokes if it doesn’t blow the competition out of the water... Until the rest of the pack can catch up, between its impressive hardware specs and its DLSS 3 AI wizardry, even the $1,599 price doesn’t seem unreasonable for the unrivaled frame rates that this card can crank out." With this GPU, you can enjoy any game at 4K resolution with ultra settings and ray tracing enabled, delivering high framerates even in the most demanding new titles like Black Myth: Wukong or Warhammer Space Marine 2. Additionally, the RTX 4090 is the go-to consumer card for AI applications, thanks to its 24GB of GDDR6X VRAM.

A note on RTX 5000 series GPUs

NVIDIA's next generation of GPUs, the RTX 5000 series, is slated to launch starting at the end of January. While the RTX 5090 is expected to be more powerful, it will come with a hefty price tag of $2,000 for the Founder's Edition at launch, and availability might be limited. The RTX 5080 will be priced at $999, but it too may face availability challenges. We'll be benchmarking this card soon, but it will have less VRAM than the 4090 (16GB vs 24GB) and may not fully eclipse the 4090's performance.

A note on Alienware's newest "R16" desktop chassis

The R16 represents Alienware's 2024 desktop PC design, which is 40% smaller in volume than its predecessors. It features an efficient airflow system, drawing air in through side intake vents over the GPU and a 120mm front fan, and expelling it via a 120mm rear fan and two 120mm top fans. The 240mm radiator for the all-in-one liquid cooling system is mounted to these top fans. While some configurations may not include liquid cooling, we typically recommend those that do, as Alienware's liquid cooling solution significantly outperforms their stock air cooling and justifies the additional cost. Note that Dell unveiled a new Area 51 chassis at CES 2025, but it closely resembles the R16 in both appearance and design.
