Best Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

Journey back in time with Marvel Snap's Prehistoric Avengers season! This season introduces Agamotto, a powerful Season Pass card and ancient sorcerer, adding a new dimension to gameplay. Let's explore the best Agamotto decks.

How Agamotto Works in Marvel Snap

Agamotto is a 5-cost, 10-power card with a unique ability: "Game Start: Shuffle 4 Ancient Arcana into your deck." These Arcana are:

  • Temporal Manipulation (1-cost): On Reveal: Give Agamotto +3 Power. Put him into your hand if he’s not in play. (Banish this.)
  • Wombs of Watoomb (2-cost): On Reveal: Afflict an enemy card here with -5 Power and move it right. (Banish this.)
  • Bolts of Balthakk (3-cost): On Reveal: Next turn, you get +4 Energy. (Banish this.)
  • Images of Ikonn (4-cost): On Reveal: Transform your other cards here into copies of the highest-Power one. (Banish this.)

Notice the "Banish" keyword. These cards, lacking power cost, are Skill cards, not character cards. They're played, then banished—they don't go to the discard pile and can't be replayed. This means they combo with Wong but not Odin; King Etri won't pull Agamotto, and Ravonna or Mister Negative won't affect them. Agamotto's diverse Arcana make him difficult to categorize into a single archetype.

Top Agamotto Decks in Marvel Snap

While a dedicated Agamotto archetype might emerge later, he currently fits well into two existing deck types: Wiccan Control and Push Scream.

Wiccan Control:

Quicksilver, Hydra Bob, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Cassandra Nova, Rocket & Groot, Copycat, Galacta, Wiccan, Agamotto, Alioth. [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]

This deck is expensive, featuring many Series 5 cards (only Quicksilver is not). However, many cards are replaceable with similar-cost alternatives. Bolts of Balthakk provides late-game energy even if Wiccan isn't drawn early. The Arcana synergize well: Temporal Manipulation retrieves Agamotto, Wombs of Watoomb disrupts, and Images of Ikonn creates powerful copies, especially with Cassandra Nova or Galacta. Cassandra Nova benefits further from Eson's release.

Push Scream:

Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Kraven, Sam Wilson, Captain America, Spider-Man, Rocket & Groot, Miles Morales, Stegron, Cannonball, Agamotto. [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]

This deck also features several Series 5 cards (Hydra Bob, Scream, Iron Patriot, Sam Wilson, Rocket & Groot, Cannonball), some replaceable (Hydra Bob with Nightcrawler, Iron Patriot with Jeff). Wombs of Watoomb synergizes directly with Agamotto, while Temporal Manipulation boosts his late-game impact. Images of Ikonn can create multiple copies of Scream, Spider-Man, or Cannonball. Agamotto adds unpredictability and counters Luke Cage/Shadow King decks.

Should You Buy the Prehistoric Avengers Season Pass?

Agamotto's power level rivals Thanos or Arishem, making him a meta-shifting card. He's likely to be frequently adjusted, and his potential for unique synergies is high. If you have the budget ($9.99 USD), the Season Pass is a worthwhile investment.
